About Duchenne
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a severe, progressive genetic disorder characterised by the wasting of muscle tissues. There is no cure. Progressive weakness requires most individuals to use a wheelchair by around age 12.
Weakness eventually impacts the muscles of the heart and respiratory system, leading to life-threatening complications.
